暴露ウイルスが絡んだファイルを根こそぎダウンロードし、閲覧可能にする、つまり「さらす」人がいる。彼らが目ぼしいものを匿名掲示板「２ちゃんねる」などに書き込んで「さらす」ことで、流出の事実が知られる。
ネット社や、同様にウィニーのネットワークを解析してきた日本ＩＢＭによると、「さらす側」の中心メンバーはわずか２、３人。うち２人が取材に応じた。
